How do I network my 2nd computer with my 1st computers printer?

I have 2 computers Office computer (has printer) Garage computer (no printer) Im trying to make it so I can print on that office printer from my garage. Both computers are connected to my verizon modem & router. Any ideas??? Thanks in advance. Mike

  1. You just need the original disk that came with the printer...you always have to install the printer to each specific computer.
  2. If your printer has an Ethernet port on it, you can plug it in to your router if you have an open Ethernet port on the router. Same thing if the printer has a USB port on it.
  3. First you must turn on file and printer sharing on the office pc. Then you must "share" the printer This should allow you to see the printer with your garage pc. You may need to provide printer drivers to the garage pc unless both pc's run same o/s and use same drivers.
  4. Share the printer on Office computer. Search for that printer on Garaga computer After location that printer, right click and Map that printer. Make it as the default printer for Garage computer. cheers! Shaba
