Baby Names? I'm planning to conceive very soon and I'm undecided on a baby name. These are some names that I've been thinking of: Girl Name: Leilani Nicole Alexia or Alexa Nicole Kennedy (don't have a middle name for that one) Boy Name: Devan Kaleb Julian Can you please tell me what you think of those names? Honest answers please. Don't tell me what you think I want to hear. And do you have any suggestions for baby names? Thanks =)
What baby names did your partner seriously suggest that you absolutely vetoed? Or conversely, what baby names did you seriously suggest that your partner absolutely vetoed? Why? Assuming that both parents are/were involved in the child's life, who had more influence over its name, the mother or the father? I should probably have assumed that most responders would be from women. Did your partner tell you WHY your suggestions were refused? Why did you refuse your partner's suggestions?
Any good baby names that go with Charlotte and Wesley? I already have two children with my husband, and we're expecting a third in September. We have decided to not know the baby's gender, so we're trying to think of some boy and girl names to go with the names our other children have. Any suggestions?
What is a good site to find baby names and meanings? A few of my coworkers are planning on having kids soon, and want to know if there are any good sites to find baby names, because they haven't found a decent baby name book. They just want some ideas, that's all. Or if you have any personal suggestions (first names along with a middle name that sounds good) that would be so awesome!!! Thanks!

What do you think about baby names with the same initial as the mom? My name starts with K and I am choosing between several names for our baby. One of them starts with a K. Would it be strange to name the baby with the same letter as my name or is it normal? I have several names so I don't have to choose that one. I really need advice on this!! Be honest. Thanks.

Okay let me know what you think.
What objects would make interesting baby names? I did this months ago and got some interesting answers. The question is: What words or objects do you think would make interesting baby names? They don't have to be ones you would actually use, just ones that sound like names. Examples for girls: Meridian, Piano, Aphasia Examples for boys: Rafter, Dice, Halogen Rules: -- Examples can't be from nature: no flowers, gemstones, or trees -- Examples can't be already in the top 1000 baby names (so Gage and Garrison are out) -- Examples shouldn't be virtues like Liberty or Justice; I'm looking for objects or plain old words. Have fun!
What are the best baby names for my cousin? My cousin is having a baby and she asked me to recommend some name for her? These are some names that I like and maybe would name my own children: Girls: Sophie Irene Aurelia Roselle Boys: Jonas Levi Bryant Which ones to do you like?
What do you think of these baby names? I love names that are unique, that you don't hear too often. When it comes down to having a baby girl or boy here are the names I've chosen (what do you think?): Girls: 1. Jasmine 2. Jordyn 3. Kayla 4. Saeda-Jasmine (Sah-eeda - Yaz-meen) 5. Azhya (like Asia the country) Boys: 1. David (after the dad) what are some unique names for boys? Saeda - Jasmine: the story behind this name is that it's Arabic. I'm half Moroccan. My dad's name is similar to the first name Saeda, except that it's made feminine with the "a" at the end of Saeda. I connected it with Jasmine, because I like the name, and it sounds good with it. =) There is no Asian country called Azhya, it's how you say the name Azhya. It's pronounced like the country Asia. Sorry for the misunderstanding. So the spelling of my dad's name is "ew" in response to the comment of one of the Y!Answer users...thanks =) Note taken.

Keely or Keeley? Elizabeth or Elisabeth? Catherine or Katherine? Sidney or Sydney? Cassie or Kassie? Zoƫ or Zoey? Also, if you saw this name, how would you pronounce it: Bleddyn?
What do you think of these celebrity baby names? Moon Unit - This peculiar baby girl name comes to us thanks to Frank and Gail Zappa. If the Zappa's were looking for publicity with this name, they have certainly received more than their fair share. Many countries would include this name on their list of illegal baby names! Fifi Trixibelle - The first name Fifi is bad, but paired with Trixibelle makes it even worse. Paula Yates and Bob Geldof should have known better. Satchel - This name was chosen by Mia Farrow and Woody Allen for their one biological son. It doesn't seem so odd to those baby namers in the states, as one of baseball's best pitchers of all time was named Satchel. Apple - Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin chose the name Apple for their little girl and the world will never be the same. Yikes. Daisy Boo - Jamie Oliver, also known as The Naked Chef, and his wife Julia should stick to cooking. These two names together leave much to be desired. Rumer - This girl name chosen by Demi Moore and Bruce Willis makes waves in Britain as well, and for good reason. Peaches - Another Paula Yates and Bob Geldof 'favorite'. What names would they have ended up with had they had 10 or 12 kids! River - This baby boy name for Arlyn and John Phoenix was chosen as bizarre by the Brits, but don't tell that to the gaggle of girls that fell in love with this young actor. They loved the name. Rocco - Rocco? Yucko. Madonna and Guy Ritchie need more than 9 months to come up with this name. Nell Marmalade - (Helen Baxendale and David Eliot) Maddox - Angelina Jolie chose this name for her adopted son. We love it. Tiger Lily Heavenly Hirani - Once Paula Yates divorced Bob Geldof, she married Michael Hutchence and the baby naming madness continued with this name. Perhaps Paula was the driving force behind these unusual baby names Dweezil - This brother of Moon Unit Zappa makes the list. Another award for parents Frank and Gail Zappa. Brooklyn - Britain's celebrity royalty, Victoria and David Beckham, draw jeers for this name. We give them cheers. This is a great baby name for a celebrity tot and ranks high on the list of top 1000 baby girl names. Eugenie - Real British Royalty are not immune from a little snubbing. Sarah Ferguson and Prince Andrew make the list with this old time baby name. Zowie - Comes to us from celeb parents Angie and David Bowie. Its bad enough alone, but is even worse when combined to create Zowie Bowie. Rolan - 1970's rockers Gloria Jones and Marc Bolan combine to create an offspring named Rolan Bolan. This collaboration only ranks high on this chart! Phoenix Chi - British Spice Girl Mel C and her dancer husband Jimmy Gulzar make the list with Phoenix. We mildly disagree, but at least it doesn't rank high on the list. Coco - Courtney Cox and David Arquette have one kid and it makes this list of celebrity baby naming insanity. Romeo - A second entry by Victoria and David Beckham, but this one is more worthy of the 'honor' than the other entry Brooklyn.
Are there any baby names books like this? I remember seeing in a "Parenting" magazine article years ago something about a book of baby names. The unusual thing about it was that it was like a book where the author had done surveys about each name and had people tell them what they thought about that name, what kind of personality would go along with it, etc. I would check my local library, but I don't remember the title and they have HUNDREDS of baby names books. Can anyone help with this? Thanks.

Anyone know of a place online where I can find advanced meaning and origins of baby names? I'm looking for something more advanced than this one-liner stuff I'm finding online. A friend of mine is having a little girl named Davanie Jayde and I wanted to do something with the meaning of her name for her room.

My husband and I disagree on baby names? Ok, we're planning on having a child, but the problem is, we have exactly the opposite taste in baby names. He prefers the simple, boring names (ie, John, Jessica -sorry if this offends anyone :-) ) and ever since I was young, I always wanted to name my children Gaelic names (Saoirse for a girl (pronounced SEER-sha), or Niamh (NEEV), etc ) but he is absolutely refusing to budge. What would you all suggest? Thanks all for the advice, but to those who think I'm trying to be UNIQUE and different, just get over yourselves ok? My family is Scottish and this is a way to preserve my heritage. In addition, we live in a VERY multicultural city - Toronto, where there are people of all different backgrounds, sometimes with VERY different names. Somehow I see a hard time imagining that a Saoirse would get picked on while a Sundeep is left alone. Besides, I could name her something common as Jill, and kids could think of ANYTHING to make fun of that. I think a name is a gift, and I'm not going to make my choices SOLELY on what will and will not get made fun of.

Any suggestions for easy to pronounce Indian baby names for a girl? I'm looking for suggestions for baby names for a girl. We have a first name picked out, but I'd like to give her a middle name as well. We're from India, but the first name we've picked out is not an Indian name. We'd like the middle name to be an Indian name, but we'd like it to be something that "foreigners" (non Indians) wouldn't have trouble pronouncing. For instance, "Eesha" is one that I found, and "Sonia" is another option that I came up with. I'm looking for either suggestions of Indian names that are easy to pronounce, or websites that specifically list easy-to-pronounce Indian names. I've done searches, but only seem to be able to find general Indian websites and it's hard to pick names from those that non-Indians would be able to easily pronounce correctly. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks!
